Selon : www.eyefortransport.com Freight accident hits rail services The third Victorian train derailment in two weeks occurred early today when a freight train jumped the tracks in the state's north-east, reports The Australian News. (3/15/2004) Two wagons at the back of a Freight Australia train, which was carrying containers from Sydney to Melbourne, derailed near Wangaratta, about 4am (AEDT). The derailment has disrupted the Melbourne-Sydney passenger train service. According to a Freight Australia spokesman, up to six kilometres of the track, which is owned by the Australian Rail Track Corporation, could have been damaged in the derailment. Cranes will be called in at 10h30 (AEDT) to remove the damaged wagons from the track.
