The Coalition for America’s Gateways and Trade Corridors (CAGTC) is calling on Congress to create a dedicated federal Freight Trust Fund (FTF), modeled after the Highway Trust Fund to pay for freight-only projects. Les ministres flamands ont trouvé un accord de principe sur la question. Il s’agirait d’une taxe kilométrique intelligente à l’instar de ce qui se fait en Allemagne. La Flandre espère que ce système sera introduit dans tout le Benelux. Des discussions avec les autres régions, les Pays-Bas et le Luxembourg devraient être bientôt engagées. (MB)
