Un contratto da 3 miliardi. Il giornale Handelsblatt riporta la dichiarazione di un portavoce del ministero della Difesa tedesco, secondo cui il Bundeswher, ossia le Forze armate terrestri, intende terziarizzare buona parte della sua logistica ad imprese private esterne. Si stima un contratto complessivo di tre miliardi euro. Una prima fase consisterebbe nella terziarizzazione di attività di base, come lo stoccaggio ed il trasporto di armamenti e munizionamento. Una prima gara d’appalto, del valore di 800 milioni di euro, potrebbe essere pubblicata entro il 2008. C’est en tout cas le pari de l’armement français CMA-CGM qui va charger sur ces navires un nouveau type de conteneurs dédié spécifiquement au transport de voitures. Dessiné par une société anglaise, Trans Rack, il permet de charger quatre véhicules dans chaque boite grâce un système de rampes et de portes coulissantes. Alors que traditionnellement, l’acheminement des véhicules nécessite de multiples manutentions depuis son lieu de production chez le constructeur jusqu’au destinataire final, l’intérêt de ce procédé est de réduire au maximum les coûteuses ruptures de charges. The recent ruling overturned the 11-hour daily driving limit and 34-hour restart period that have been in place since the current rules took effect on October 1, 2005. It also resets the HOS clock to 10 hours of maximum driving time each day. The move recognises the importance of China as a growing market economy and a major force in automotive manufacturing. The new $98 million USD terminal, to be owned by TPG Global RO-RO Terminal Co Ltd, is a three-way venture with Wallenius Wilhelmsen Terminals North AB, Tianjin Port Stock Co Ltd (51 per cent) and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha in Tianjin (34 per cent). TPG has the rights to operate the terminal for 30 years with an option to extend the term. Tianjin is the largest port in North China. Designed to handle upwards of 500,000 vehicles a year, the new 296 000 m2 terminal will incorporate two RoRo berths for cars, high and heavy RoRo equipment and static cargoes.
