DHL to build US$175m North Asia Hub in Shanghai DHL has decided to establish the DHL Express North Asia Hub in near the Shanghai Pudong International Airport in China. (11/26/2007) The new facility will serve China and the North Asia region, providing DHL’s customers with greater regional connections as well as intercontinental links to Europe and the US. This latest US$175 million investment brings DHL’s total investment in Asia-Pacific to more than US$2.2 billion in the past few years, US$615 million of which was invested in China. Scheduled for completion in the second half of 2010, the North Asia Hub will help boost DHL’s growth in Asia-Pacific and strengthen its market leadership in China. The North Asia Hub will also complement the Central Asia Hub in Hong Kong, as well as hubs in Bangkok, Incheon, Singapore and Sydney. Sinotrans Air to sell Exel-Sinotrans stake

Selon" eyefortransport" : Sinotrans Air to sell Exel-Sinotrans stake Sinotrans Air has put its 50% stake in Exel-Sinotrans Freight Forwarding on the market for CNY628.5 million. (11/26/2007) Exel-Sinotrans was established as a joint venture by Sinotrans Air and DHL Exel Supply Chain (Hong Kong) in 2003, with each partner pumping US$1.46 million into the company. Xinhua reported five months ago that DHL wanted to acquire Sinotrans’ stake in the JV company. Industry analysts expect DHL to buy the stake. Such a transaction would be in line with DHL’s plan to own an independent logistics and freight forwarding platform in China by means of regrouping. __________________________________________________________________
