La Poste Japonaise se paie #Toll

La nouvelle de la prise de contrôle de TOLL  (#Toll Australie) par la Poste Japonaise  fait relativement peu de bruit en Europe.  Pour autant, cet achat est une nouvelle importante pour le paysage des opérateurs de transport dans le monde.  Non seulement la transaction est considérable, puisqu'elle porte sur 5,1 milliards de $ US (6,5 milliards A$), mais ce rachat porte sur les des principaux opérateurs globaux de la zone pacifique.  Voir la dépêche Reuter .  Voir aussi la position de Toll Contrairement à certaines informations simplistes, il ne s'agit pas que d'un grand organisateur de transport, mais d'un grand groupe diversifié et largement intégré.  L'annonce de cette nouvelle s'est traduite par une augmentation - mécanique - du cours de l'action Toll de plus de 47% ( voir l'article de foot.com.au )

Toll poursuit sa croissance externe

Toll Group, the Asian region’s leading provider of integrated logistics, today announced the acquisition of Express Logistics Group (ELG), one of New Zealand’s largest freight forwarding companies. ELG currently operates 12 freight forwarding branches across New Zealand, Australia and the USA, and also provides value adding warehouse and transport services to its customers. ELG is principally focussed on serving the import and export requirements of apparel and footwear retailers in Australia and New Zealand, with the majority of its revenues coming from trans-Tasman trade and Australian and New Zealand freight movements from Greater China. “The acquisition of the Express Logistics Group is a great example of our growth strategy for the Toll Global Forwarding (TGF) business,” said Toll Group’s Managing Director, Paul Little. “ELG will add scale in Toll Global Forwarding’s key trade lanes in Asia and allow its customers to leverage off Toll’s very strong existing network in the region.

Acquisitions De transport intelligence (http://www.transportintelligence.com/) On 4/28, TNT NV announced the pending acquisition of Expresso Araçatuba Transportes E Logística Ltda for $70.6 million. Based in Sao Paulo, Expresso utilizes 1,000 vehicles and 40 depots toprovide expedited cargo transportation throughout Brazil. On 5/1, Toll Holdings Limited announced the pending acquisition of 40.0% of BIC Logistics, Ltd. Based in New Delhi, BIC provides trucking and warehousing services for the automotive, print media and fabrics industries. Terms were not disclosed.

Toll (Au) poursuit sa croissance externe

Mai 2008 Toll (Australie) poursuit sa croissance externe en prenant le contrôle de "Courier Australia" et de "New Zealand’s United Carriers" Courier Australia is a Courier and Express transport and logistics group, based in Western Australia. It was established in 1959 and employs about 600 staff and independent contractors in that state. Courier Australia has a strong regional network in Western Australia which will add scale to some of Toll’s existing courier and express businesses. ---- United Carriers employs 360 staff and has a fleet of 220 trucks. It has businesses in a range of logistics sectors including general freight, livestock, logging, warehousing and international freight forwarding. ____

Toll veut acquérir BalTrans

Toll hits the acquisition trail again Toll Group has announced its intention to acquire a controlling interest in BALtrans, one of the largest Asia-based freight forwarding and logistics companies, for approximately A$365 million. (12/20/2007) BALtrans’s international network spans all major cities in Asia, North America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and the company generates annual revenues of around A$690 million. Toll managing director Paul Little said: “BALtrans is a key element of our Asian growth strategy and provides a global freight forwarding network from its strong Asian base. The inclusion of BALtrans with the Toll Group based on historicals would result in annual revenues outside Australia and New Zealand of in excess of A$1.2 billion, which is more than 20% of our revenues, excluding Virgin Blue.” He added that the businesses of both companies are highly complementary in terms of strategy, focus, capability, customers and industry segments with strong growth-oriente
