TNT to acquire Chinese Logistics and Spanish express companies TNT is in advanced negotiations to acquire Chinese domestic freight and parcels operator, Hoau Logistics, and will also acquire TG+, a Spanish domestic express distribution company. source : http://www.eyefortransport.com (12/6/2005) TNT is in the process of acquiring Chinese freight and parcels transportation operator, Hoau Logistics Group, based in Heilongjiang. Both companies have signed a Letter of Intent, and the deal is expected to be completed next year. The acquisition will make TNT the largest privately owned transportation network for freight and parcels in China. TNT already operates the largest distribution infrastructure in China with 140 operating facilities, covering 2.4 million square metres of warehouse space across 600 cities. (12/2/2005) According to The Financial Times, international harbour operators such as Singapore’s PSA and Hong Kong’s Hutchison Whampoa are also interested in HHLA, while transport companies Abellio and Connex have already expressed an interested in Hamburger Hochbahn. Deutsche Bahn’s takeover bid has met with considerable resistance, says the Financial Times, particularly from Switzerland’s Kuehne + Nagel. Part of the Deutsche Bahn deal would require a shift of its company HQ from Berlin to Hamburg. DFDS Transport acquires Transitas Source : http://www.eyefortransport.com/ _________________________________________ DFDS Transport has signed an agreement with Alexander Schreibeisen GmbH & Co and Jochem Wagner in terms of which DFDS Transport will acquire 100% of the shares in Transitas Internationale Spediteure. (12/6/2005) Transitas has an estimated annual turnover of €27 million and EBITA of €0.5 million in 2005. The company has business locations in Kehl and Strasbourg, and provides domestic & international distribution and contract logistics services. The takeover of Transitas is expected to take place effective January 2006, and DSV expects to consolidate the acquisition from the effective date in the DSV accounts. Closing of the transaction is subject to approval by the relevant authorities. DFDS Transport intends to integrate Transitas with its Road division.
