Dutch railways and ports of Rotterdam & Amsterdam to jointly operate Betuweroute
Dutch railways and ports of Rotterdam & Amsterdam to jointly operate Betuweroute ProRail, the inframanager of the Dutch railways, and the port authorities of Rotterdam and Amsterdam will jointly operate the Betuweroute, the dedicated freight railway from Rotterdam to Germany. The authorities have signed a new agreement that includes the setting up of a joint venture for the next five years. The participants will put all their market and logistic knowledge, skills and experience into the new company (BREM, BetuweRoute Exploitatie Maatschappij) to make the venture as successful as possible. The port authorities will take a 50% share in the new company and ProRail the other 50%.
